This profile is a proven and dedicated element strengthening and stabilizing the guitar's neck, increasing the stiffness and preventing the formation of neck distortions. In most cases, you will need 2 CARBON G rods for one neck, a bit more details in the description below)…

How to use CARBON G:

We recommend the method of using this type of reinforcement, which we have personally tested over the years. It has proven itself in every case used without exception, here it is... Make 2 channels with a width of 4mm and a depth of 6,5 or 7mm (this is 0,5 – 1 mm more than the height of the rod. The channels can be made with a router with a guide and a 4mm straight router bit. Then cover 3 channel walls with long-time-working 2-component epoxy glue/resin and also apply a glue/resin on the carbon profile cut to size. The profile should then be placed in the channel, and on it should be placed a strip of any kind of wood of the same length, 4 mm wide and, for example, 10 mm high, covered with glue on the bottom edge. The strip should be pressed at the top with clamps at 5-7 points, which will cause a secure sticking of the carbon reinforcement element and the strip in the channel. The clamps should not be overly tightened, it is mainly about pressing the graphite rod to the bottom of the channel and squeezing out the excess glue. To save time and facilitate later work, we suggest securing the surface around the channel of the element inserted with masking tape, and removing the excess of squeezed glue on an ongoing basis ... e.g. with ear cleaning sticks :) You can untight clamps after 48 hours. Do the same procedure with the next channel and the carbon rod. The wooden strips above the surface should be chipped and scraped or sanded to the surface on which the fingerboard will then be glued. Why use a wooden strip over a carbon rod and why doesn’t it matter what kind of wood? Well, it is better to have a layer of wood with a thickness of, for example, 0.5 mm, than glue or empty space, in turn, even if it is, for example, pine wood, it will not reduce the quality and stiffness of the neck structure, because its volume will be negligible and used in the technique laminating a thin layer of wood will add extra stiffness. Of course, purists can use better quality wood like walnut, mahogany, rosewood, etc.

Note, in the case of neck screwed to the body (bolt on), please note that the fixing holes in the neck must not run through the elements made of carbon fiber! In this case, plan the route of the channels with reinforcements beyond the planned mounting holes, or use appropriately shorter reinforcing rods.

 

Why CARBON G:

In addition to the obvious reasons, such as increasing the stiffness and stability of a neck, or reducing the susceptibility to sound detuning when playing on the move ...

... To be sure, because the most stable wood, from the most "stable" species, seasoned for many years and used in a safe way, can be surprising, and the effect of this surprise cannot always be repaired. You often cannot win with nature, but you can match to it or protect somehow. The additional cost and time involved in installing carbon rods is your insurance against possible unpleasant surprises.

CARBON G rods are dedicated to the use in a guitar neck to increase the stiffness and stability of the neck, also to prevent possible deformations of the neck in the future, including torsional distortions. It is the element in the construction of the neck of stringed instruments, proven by us over the years. A neck is stiffer and more reliable to use, and in our opinion, the relatively small mass of carbon fiber does not have any deterioration in the sound quality of the instrument. We recommend using CARBON G rods even in a thick profile or laminated neck. A bit more work, associated with being integrated into the wood, but the reliability of using the instrument is ensured for many years.

Carbon G profiles are made of continuous, uninterrupted carbon fibers arranged unidirectionally along the profile, pressed under pressure at an elevated temperature together with a adhesive, which is an epoxy resin. This ensures high bending strength, many times higher than that of any wood, with the same weight and dimensions.

The offered material length is greater than required. Please cut the length to your own requirements, according to the project.

Oferowany produkt jest wykonany z włókien węglowych oraz żywic epoksydowych i jest przeznaczony do dalszej samodzielnej obróbki przez kupującego. Cięcie na wymiar czy szlifowanie proszę wykonywać stosując wszelkie wymagane zabezpieczenia BHP, w tym ochronę oczu (gogle, okulary pełne), ochronę układu oddechowego (np. maseczki przeciwpyłowe odpowiedniej klasy - pył pochodzący z obróbki włókien węglowych, jak i wielu innych różnych materiałów naturalnych oraz sztucznie stworzonych, jest bardzo szkodliwy i potrafi być rakotwórczy!), czy ochronę ciała, dłoni (rękawice robocze, długie rękawy, kombinezon – pył zawiera liczne niewidoczne „igiełki” trudne do usunięcia, zauważenia, należy unikać bezpośredniego kontaktu). Najefektywniejsze i najbezpieczniejsze cięcie zapewniają piły pokryte posypką diamentową w dedykowanym użyciu „na mokro” (piły ręczne nieelektryczne lub narzędzia elektryczne docelowo realizujące cięcie na mokro).

Reakcje alergiczne – mogą wystąpić różne reakcje alergiczne, w przypadkach szczególnych należy zgłosić się po poradę medyczną.

Podrażnienie oczu – w przypadku dostania się pyłu z obrabianego przedmiotu do oczu może wystąpić podrażnienie. W takim wypadku należy zasięgnąć porady lekarza okulisty. Bezwzględnie należy unikać dostania się pyłu z obrabianego przedmiotu do oczu i stosować odpowiednie zabezpieczenie.

Ryzyko zranienia – zachować szczególną ostrożność, niektóre kanty lub końcówki mogą zranić przy nagłym kontakcie.

When cutting to size or grinding, please wear all required occupational health and safety equipment, including eye protection (goggles, full-face glasses), respiratory protection (e.g., appropriate dust masks – dust from processing carbon fibers, as well as many other natural and artificially created materials, is very harmful and can be carcinogenic!), body and hand protection (work gloves, long sleeves, overalls – the dust contains numerous invisible "needles" that are difficult to remove or see; direct contact should be avoided). The most effective and safest cutting is achieved with diamond-coated saws used for dedicated "wet" cutting (non-electric handsaws or electric tools designed for wet cutting).
