Dimensions for own purposes to be carried out independently. As always when working with wood, we recommend the domestication of the wood at the place of destination for a period of several weeks. Everyone, even the most stable type of wood is not indifferent to changes in humidity, temperature and other external factors. Also, we recommend few weeks of self-stabilization the wood after all raw working (for example, after band-sawing the shape of a neck), wood need to loose all the tensions that have arisen over the years. Than, you can make precision work. It is good practice to receive stable neck in ready instrument.

Mahogany Sapele is a great wood, which is ideal choice for musical instruments as a neck and / or body. Many years ago it was thought that the only right mahogany is Honduran mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla), soft enough to easy handle, full of excellent acoustic qualities. Meanwhile, not worse Sapele is in our view, in some respects even better, because it is stiffer, a little harder, adds more power and content / base / measure to the sound, it is also interesting visually because of a more diverse waveforms fiber or grain. Ideally suited to the classic designs, such as the LP type, and in all combinations of maple, ebony, Pau Ferro or rosewood. Please note that a lot of custom and high-end guitar bodies or necks are made of an "African mahogany" (f.e, Sapele, Acajou). Sapele grows and is harvested in tropical Africa, wood is stable and quite easy to handle, but because of the wide and deep pores it is necessary to use grain filler, and then security is required, eg. through lacquer coating. Mahogany is beautifully presented in a clear finish or with a red stain application under clear coat. The instrument made of wood Sapele will be getting nobler color and sound from year to year. Very musical wood, we recommend.
