Dimensions for own purposes to be carried out independently. As always when working with wood, we recommend the domestication of the product at the place of destination for a period of several weeks. Everyone, even the most stable type of wood is not indifferent to changes in humidity, temperature and other external factors.

Natural environment Zebrano is the area of West Africa. The wood of this tree has a distinctive straw-beige color with very distinct dark brown lines, hence the name Zebrawood. It is relatively unknown and rarely used in the musical instruments making. The reason is probably the relatively high price of the material, problems with constant availability, difficult machining and high percentage of waste. The machining difficulty is mainly related to the tearing and splitting of large parts of the fibers, leading to complete material destruction or further grinding of the jagged surface. However, skilful handling of sharp hand tools, taking away the thickness of the material with minimal layers and giving full attention to the workpiece will result in a final product with an original, gold-yellow satin finish, great appearance, just exotic. It should also be added that during the treatment it has been found to have a very nasty, disgusting smell (there is nothing to hide, it stinks as a…), but the smell is not felt during the normal use of the product made of this wood. The process of manual sanding will also be astonishing, as it is likely to be more prolonged and tiring than ebony sanding. Yes, yes, zebrano is very resistant to abrasion, although it does not look like it. As far as physical parameters are concerned, it can be easily compared to Indian rosewood, it is strong, stiff and hard, but not extremely hard, such as ebony, amaranth or padauk. It can be used either as a neck or fingerboard or profiled top of the body, such as the Les Paul design. The tone of zebrano in the finished instrument should have the character of a pau ferro mixed with a rosewood, not as warm as the rosewood, and not as hard and sparky as the maple or ebony. The difficulty is definitely to determine if a piece of wood will sound good before we use it, because it does not like "tapping", it does not want to show its character as easy as mentioned eg pau ferro or Indian rosewood or maple, ebony, padauk, mahogany, etc. The zebrano blank often appears "deaf", its tone qualities appear only in the finished instrument. We do not recommend zebrano for the first instrument, but for the next… yes. Perfectly looks with gold equipment, dark suit, white shirt and red tie.
